In late February and early March, 130 one-day online training were held for school teams, students and parents in just ten days. The goal was for the direct participants in the state matura to get acquainted in more detail with its importance and their roles and responsibilities in this process.
The training was realised within the State Matura Project, and almost 100 trainers were hired for this extensive work.
Training for school teams was attended by school principals or secretaries, professional associates and two delegated representatives of the teachers' council. Their task was to get acquainted with the state matura's concept, functions, principles, and the legal framework for its implementation, and then with the essential concrete steps and processes in implementing the state matura. Part of the training was also dedicated to information on pilot preparations and school tasks - from keeping documentation to organising exams and ensuring regularity to adjusting the way of taking exams for students with disabilities and developmental disabilities.
Training for students was intended for the members of the Student Parliament. Four representatives, two fourth grade students who will participate in the piloting of the Matura exam and two students of the current second grade who will take the real state Matura exam as the first generation, were given the task of passing on the training information to their peers. Their training covered all the topics covered by the training for teachers. Still, it was adapted to the younger generation, focusing on the questions they most often ask, with plenty of exercises and opportunities for discussion.
Parents' teams
composed of representatives of the Parents' Council and members of the School
Board were interested in the purpose and meaning of the state matura, the
number of subjects to be taken, vertical and horizontal mobility in the
education system after passing the state matura, exam preparation and other
practical issues which the parents of future graduates otherwise meet. During
this training, special attention was paid to detailed explanations of how tests
are created - who makes them, how the process is controlled, how the quality of
tasks and tests is checked, and how the secrecy of the task development process
is kept.
